Fred Astaire Dance Studios has developed the most efficient system of teaching ballroom dancing in the world. There are numerous aspects of learning to dance such as patterns, footwork, timing and rhythm, partnership, animation, character of the dance, and confidence. | Material Lessons (Group Lessons) | |

In our Material Lessons, a student is introduced and begins learning the essentials of dancing: footwork, style, balance, control, character and technique. These lessons save students time and money since this material can be taught in a group environment as quickly as it can in a private lesson. |
| Development Lessons (Private Lessons) | |
|
Skills acquired from the Material Lessons are further enhanced and developed by the students in order for them to gain more expression, confidence, animation and personal style. By dancing the figures in various combinations in this lesson format, a higher degree of balance, control, rhythm and coordination is also developed. |
